They told me 2-3 years to recover. 10 months after surgery, I was ready to get back to work.

Here's to hoping for a speedy recovery. If they fuse his neck, he will probably never ride again.

I just read this due to the thread being dug back up...

I think you need to re-read what I said. I wasn't giving any differing advice. I was saying that the prognosis that ICU doctors give is often as wrong as could be.

An update would be appreciated- anyone?
