I was passing through there a few weeks ago & stopped by laguna just to have a look. I wanted to take a picture of the corkscrew so I thought I would just run up that hill real quick. I had to stop and rest on the way up. By the time I got to the top I thought I was going to throw up.

the corkscrew defines a blind turn. You really have to have your turn in marker right or you'll completely blow the turn, and possibly end up in the dirt. Its..............interesting to say the least.

Once I come over the hill I apply my brakes and turn in once the curbing on the right shows up. After that its time for a roller coaster ride!!

Here's a picture looking the other way away from the turn. It does a better job showing you just how high it is. The hill is so big that you can't even see my cargo van hauling a uhaul at the bottom.

That pic is the front straight looking at turn 1 right? So you are standing on the cokscrew hill and it behind you?

Corkscrew Anyone?

The corkscrew starts at the top of the hill and comes out to Rainey just left of the hill.

Goto google.com/maps, search for "Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway", select "Street View" from the returned seclection and spend the next hour viewing the track from a racer's perspective.
