Getting on the hood seems like poor judgement to me. What if you don't hit the guy and he drives off at high speed again. You'd be in for a nasty ride that probably has a bad ending. Seems like it would make more sense to shoot through the side window.

I watched this one video where I very young, blonde teen girl got arrested, hopped over the seat and took on IN the cop car. She drove straight at the cop.. he never even thought about pulling his gun and blasting her through the windshield like that.

Go figure.

Larger target from front on...and the windshield isn't tinted, and less chance of missing the driver and hitting the passenger than trying to shooting through the side window.
