Welcome to the site!
Why do you want to upgrade to an R1? R6 too slow for you?

well I love the R1 and my gsxr 600 is modded but I like the power of the R1 and its just an all around nice bike I want to get a 04 or newer because of the horsepower upgrade and the undertail exhaust and I think they are a really solid bike..

The Forest; 3090 and 149 is around 200 miles more if you do two trips through the twisties... Their are other roads but I am thinking that they are under construction or are flatout dangerous but due to distance they are convenient for some. You can always start chroming and polishing then put a harder compund tire on for freeway cruising....

Guess you are wanting to offload the GSXR due to the same thinking as Hopkins from MotoGP... he gave that Zuki not one but TWO kicks to the faring!

149 & 3090 is the best it gets for street riding around the north side. We meet on Sundays 10:00AM. Lets ride! Meet at the Texaco 149 & 105 (Conroe).

O- and the R1 is a sweet bike I love mine, but you might wan't to consider the 06 GSXR 1000 if you have the funds!
