My FINAL 2009 CMRA Thanks

I had a pretty good day yesterday. I always wish I could have done better. I ended up with (2) 4th's, (1) 3rd and (1) 2nd place finish. My best time of the day was a 1:51.5 which is 3 full seconds faster than I was, at TWS (Texas World Speedway), in April. Just to give you an example of how the competition, as well as myself, have improved over the last 6 months. Back in April, yes it rained in the AM but the track way dry in the afternoon, 52's and 53's were winning races. Yesterday, I ran that :51.5 and got 4th place! Everyone has improved greatly this year, myself included. It has been an expensive lesson and I have learned alot about riding, racing, the people in racing, who to trust, who is full of , so on and so forth. I am not sure what the future holds for me in the sport. I finished top 5, in a couple of classes, having raced only 5 of 11 races. I'd like to think I could compete for a novice title next year, but have a lot of reflecting to do and need to get some helpful deals in place. The sacrafices to race are extraordinary. Mostly around time, money and the risks involved.
I'll go ahead and utilize this thread to give a huge thanks to the people that have made this all worth doing, some of which I dont think I would have even raced had it not been for them.

Motorcycles Unlimited - I can not express enough the gratitude I have for you guys and all that you have helped me with this year. Motorcycles Unlimited has provided far more than simply a superb bike for me. In additon to maintaining my ride, they have spent plenty of time drawing track maps on notebook paper and showing me around the different tracks. They have tried to teach me about suspension, tires, braking and motorcycle performance. Some I have picked up on quickly, some slowly. Motorcycles Unlimited became more, to me, that just my motorcycle shop. They became friends and confidents. They have tried to advise me on when to shut up and when to speak up, most of the advice I took to heart, some I couldnt control myself. Either way, I have enjoyed each and every conversation and do not think any of them were every useless ones.

Ridesmart Motorcycle School - Dave game me a chance to work with Ridesmart when another org wouldnt even return a call or email from me. I was interested in racing and knew that I need to figure out a way to get some seat time and become a student of the sport by helping others. I have always believed that by teaching, you have to educate yourself further. Who wants to give out bad information? I have done my best to remain loyal and a supporter of Ridesmarts mission without wavering. I appreciate the the opportunity that Dave gave myself. Ride Smart is just that type of business. Everyone is welcome, everyone deserves and 2nd chance, everyone is family. There are no cliques. Once I found out that it TRULY wasn't about the money for Dave, I couldn't help but give the school 100% support. Thanks Ride Smart, for the opportunity, for the 35ish dates this year, for more seat time than I could handle and for the opportunity to help others.

South Central Race Center / Bridgestone Tires - Not sure what I would have done had I not been able to hook up with John. I had and still have no idea about compounds, tire wear, pressures or anything tire related for that matter. John was always available to help out. Just an example, at TWS (Texas World Speedway), he made his way to my pit area to let me know of a pressure change that I needed at TWS (Texas World Speedway). Had he not thought of me, i'd have been running what I normally run. And as you may or may not know, Bridgestone pays the highest contingency money. With the last 3 races, Cresson, OHR and TWS (Texas World Speedway), I have stacked $950.00 in Bridgestone money.

Jimmy "The Bossman" zx6 - What can I say big homie? They guy encouraged me to get to the track. This is all his fault! If I have said it once I have said it a gazillion times...Jimmy may have very well save my life. when everyone else sat behind their lap tops and made fun of us for rding the backroads, Jimmy was out there helping us, inviting us to the track, loaning bikes, leathers, helmets and whatever else we needed to ride. He and I have travelled to every race this year. We have made each other faster. He has spent time working on my bike when he had work to do to his bike. I have come over at 10pm on weeknight to have tires changed. He helped me with my clutch and all kinds of other that I just simply did not know how to do. When I started this , I couldnt event change my wheels out. I can't thank you enough Jimmy. I can only hope to be 1/2 as helpful to others as you have been to me.

And finally thanks to all my friends that I have met since getting back on a street bike 18 months ago. I have met some awesome people who have had an enormous impact on my life. I'd mention names but dont wanna leave anyone out.

At this point, I am not sure about next year, I think I am just tired...and broke. I'm sure when 2010 rolls around, and the buzz starts, you'll see me on the grid.

Sorry for the long post and typos. I didnt proof read.

You and your fkn SV were great motivation for me this year! I'm still not ready to talk trash though. You're pretty sick on that thing, on the track.

But I'll smoke that on the street.
