Eric Buell has lived his dream and lost it. I am sure he'll find a new niche.

I feel for him but people like him don't end in defeat.

Holly cow, was this over priced and the mark up huge or they are selling it loosing money wich I dont think is the case.

I feel sorry for all the americans loosing their jobs and all the families that are being affected because of this down fall of our economy.

Guys support your local stores local providers and board sponsors, the motorcycle industry is going thru some difficult times and it is time for us to make sure we buy locally which ever is your preference, stimulate your local economy.

Buying online does not help your local economy, your dealers and local stores want your business, just ask if they can match an online price, you will be surprise must will say ok.

My 2 cents, have fun ridding and ride safe.

One thing about that bike that scared me was the radiators out there like that. Thats just more to break and to have to replace on a get-off at the track. knows how much those things cost each.

Buells are solid machines. I spoke with a Ulysses owner that I ran into at a gas station. It was his second one. He had put 55,000 miles on his first one before hitting a deer. When he pulled the motor apart for inspection he found that you could still see the honing on the cylinder walls, they looked brand new.
It's only based on the Sportster engine. Those are some well built machines.

The only thing wrong with Buell's for the last several years has been their motors. If they would have dropped the Harley Sportster architecture engine and put in something like Aprillia's or Ducati's motors they would have had a sweet bike.
And I would have bought one. I know the 1125's have a Rotax but the others should have had the same kinda thing. IMHO.

they are losing money with each buell sold. HD that is, not the dealers. if you read HD's quarterly reports, they've set aside a ton of money to reimburse the dealers for the buells..

I liked the Ulysses. If they would have done this a month ago when I was in the market I may have gotten one.

Couldn't agree with you more. I've always liked the technological innovations of the Buell but the engine could have been better. I've always thought that Buell should have broken away from Harley Davidson altogether. The engine was a link that somehow had to stay attached to HD or something.
