There are certain models that I will always like from HD (Wideglide, Fatboy, Sportbob), but the rest of the line does nothing for me. I almost considered buying a Sportbob until I went into an HD dealership (Stubbs). Almost everyone that I've talked to there has the attitude that if I'm not buying today they don't have time for me. I can go right next door to Stubbs metric and see people like Big Comfy who is absolutely cool and will BS with you about the bikes if he's not busy. I don't know about you guys, but I shop a lot before I buy anything. I know a guy that walked into Stubbs HD to buy a new bike. He had just gotten off work and was sorta dirty, etc. No one would even stop and ask if he needed anything. After 30 minutes in the place with no help, he asked for the manager. When the manager asked him if he could help him out he explained how long he had been there and the lack of any help or recognition. He then put his checkbook on the seat of a nearby bike along with 7 credit cards and a copy of his bank statement and credit report and told the manager that he WAS going to buy a bike when he walked in. Once the manager saw that, he was VERY interested in paying attention to him. My friend picked up his cards and checkbook and told the manager that he would never see a dime of his money. He then went straight to Republic and managed buying a new bike that day. The point is that the sales people try to make you feel like it's an honor to be allowed to buy an HD. The friendliest guys I've ever met were in a metric dealership. It's sad to think of all of those Americans that would lose jobs, but if the HD brand died tomorrow, I wouldn't shed a tear.

I'd like to think that racing their 1100+cc bikes against 600cc sport bikes and only winning a few races was the final nail in the coffin.

What a joke that was. Wankers!! DMG and Buell!

(edit: just watched his video. bwahahaha.. took the championship with engineering and innovation? bwahahahahahahaa Didn't mention that they had twice the displacement.. again, wankers!)

Right, so they shouldn't have been racing bikes half their size. It was a joke. Not only that, but they were using the same bikes with a different state of tune into the superbike class.

In Ducati's are running 1200cc twins vs 1000cc i4s in superbikes. At least that is ONLY 200cc's.

I've always been of the opinion that there should be 1 displacement limit. If your engine design doesn't produce enough power within that constraint, then that's your problem. Do something BETTER!

I know that I've been in there a few times and it seemed to take forever to get anyone when I was there too. As far as he's concerned; He's kind of rough looking and works a dirty job. They probably didn't think he had the money for their way-overpriced stuff. All I know is that the Harley side isn't NEARLY as friendly as the import side.

you can't blame the attitude of stubbs HD on harley. you blame stubbs for that. there are good dealers and bad dealers for every brand.

and btw, wtf is a "sportbob?"

I'm wondering what the RidersEdge Training classes are going to do. Right now they use the Buell blast for training because it's the ONLY bike they have that meets the MSF requirements. , the requirements were even changed to allow them to use that bike.

Guess they'll have to go to Japanese training bikes.

u know they are going to hide them in the back. I wonder if they would use the 883 piglet for the class?

Before RidersEdge one of the requirements was 250cc or less. MSF upped that to 500cc or less so the blast could be used.

None of the HD bikes meet that requirement.

I went into a car dealership to guy a used pick up cash. They blew me off and I showed one of the sales guys that was ignoring me the money as I was leaving and told them they were . Went to 2 other places and the same happened. Made sure to tell them that they sucked and left. I took the cash and went to Japan for 2 weeks.
