I always thought a good one was a quiet one. My leo vince(slip on) on the 954rr was quiet until you really opened it up, and the yosh (full exhaust) on my gsxr is pretty quiet too. Thinking of cutting the yosh down some to make it just a tad louder cause its like stock..

Please don't feel obligated to choose a yoshi pipe just for the simple reason that you ride suzuki. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with yoshi. Intact, yoshi is my current exhaust. I just feel people that ride Suzuki are drawn in by all the yoshimura symbols on a mladin jacket. I've grown partial to Leo vince and devil exhaust. Heard these pipes on similar bikes to mine and sound great when riding and roar when you pick it up. Pipe envy is a disease. Choose wisely and explore your options.

excellent advice!!

you'll ultimately go with one you like...but take into account Kneedragger is correct a pipe that can be heard is always better than one that cannot...just like making yourself visible in riding habits, a louder pipe helps in assisting with that. Racerx is also right...knowing how to ride saves your life too.

For those that have moped sounding pipes and like to compare loud pipes to 's....well...I'll let you figure them out ....

Now my opinion, you dont want one thats overly screaming LOUD...it will get real annoying real quick and can even be bothersome! just my opinion...

good luck!

thats a love hate thing for me. I agree, riding skill is a better route then an exhaust to save you.

My old yoshi on my 05rr was an average sounding (loudness wise), my two brothers p.o.s full exhaust on my 07rr is louder for sure. And my full graves exhaust seems loud as , compared to my others. It makes me feel slightly safer...however, between my loud suomy helmet, and my loud graves exhaust system...it is annoying.

I say forget all other factors (i highly doubt anything u get would get u a ticket).... exhaust isnt something i would choose to pinch pennies on. Do your homework on good brands etc and go with that.

unless someone were to buy the brand LOR copies its exterior design from, which would make the bike sound and perform better anyway

I through on some VooDoos... They were a little louder than I expected (don't know why when I put them on a BUSA); but they sound mean and I am receiving a lot of compliments on how they sound. Plus the drop in weight and added 8hps is fun as well.
But like most have said do your homework find what you like. It took my over three years to find mine (couldn't make-up my mind). Just don't waste your money on something that will not make you and your ride happy!

i'll be at msrh on nov. 1st.

and to the thread starter, come to the track (msrh) on nov. 1st and watch a few sessions, you'll be able to hear every pipe available for bikes. that's how i made my decision on which one i wanted. i corner worked and listened to all the pipes as they passed me. gary (dudewheresmybike) had a LOR and hands down sounded the best.

and to amanda, don't hate lil lady

mark my words when I say you'll be impressed with it's sound. at first glance it looks weird because it's short and thinner then the norm. but when u hear it turned on, reved up, and on the track, you'll be impressed with it's solid and throaty sound
