How loud is too loud for exhaust??

Alright so Im looking to get a new one. Im wondering if there are any certain types that would be to loud to where I could get a ticket? Im not wanting super loud but a decent sounding one. I have a Katana 600 so if anybody knows which ones are good for my bike please let me know....

Thanx, Travis

I've always thought D&D is a bit loud. Especially if a full system.

I just cut out the collector plate in my stock exhaust and rewelded/painted.

My D&D slip is super loud. Couldn't imagine full.

Just youtube "katana exhaust" and I'm sure you'll find some good examples of different systems.

My bro has a full D&D on his 636. Sounds mean as ! No one ever bothered him so far after 2 years. Passes inspection everytime although 99% of inspectors only check your lights and horn. Which leaves me to my next point......

In all honesty its up to the cops.

Unless they actually have a db meter(no they dont) its just by ear.

Mine is just fine. Its pretty loud but the busa use to rumble the ground beside it w a single exhaust.

Ive heard D&D's on Katanas too and they are LOUD! You probably wont be satisfied with D&D on your bike. Try a Yoshi.

I miss my D&D. Had to trade it in for an Akrapovic Full System :( Cars could ALWAYS hear me, and they never cut me off. I have been pulled over a couple of times because cops would think I was speeding, but I just told them I just have a loud pipe. I have even started it up a couple of times to show them. They have NEVER given me a ticket becuase my pipe was too loud.

BUY THE D&D if you want to ensure that cars hear you. Although on group rides nobody will want to ride next to you

I have D&D slip-on and think its not loud enough... I might cut it shorter and repack it...

Loud is good, some of the cars on the road have their radio or cells so loud that cant hear you or they just aren't looking for you.

Yoshi andSuzuki have been in bed for a long time.
But before buying any look at the dyno curves and note were and how you are moving your power band, and what else you made need to make it work best.

good luck
