We were there last year and I talked to the docent about that bike for a good 20 minutes. What a beautiful piece of art indeed.

Stroud raced here in the US off and on in the middle to late 1990s, and was the first AMA Formula Xtreme champ in 1997. I am not aware that he died. When and where?

Now, Mark Farmer, former IoM great and Britten rider, is dead since June 1994 at IoM on a Britten.

my mistake, I'm confusing Stroud with fellow New Zealander Robert Holden for some reason
who rode a Ducati
I stand corrected

Thanks for sharing, Linz. Nice bike. Now I'm going to have to go and read about it.

You took some of the same photos of it that I did when at the Barber Museum a few months ago. There are some other beautiful works of art there but the Britten is by far the best of the collection.

Ridden by Aucklander Andrew Stroud, the new V1000 dominated the 1992 Daytona Supertwins race. Right from the starting grid it exploded to the front. Footage of the Race shows Stroud toying with rival Ducati Ferracci rider Pascal Picotte. Time and again he grants the French rider space before almost insouciantly reeling him in, the super-machine cheekily pulling wheel-stands next to the unamused Picotte.
Always loved that.
