Motorcycle Freight/Shipping company?

I am looking at buying a motorcycle in PA and wanted to get it freighted down to Houston, anyone know of some type of transport or a shipping company that isn't too expensive? Delivery time isn't an issue as much as cost...

If you want some CHEAP shipping then go SAIA... i wouldn't recommend them for quality reasons though.

+1 to flying out, checking out the bike first then riding it back

1) haulbikes.com i have used them in the past and no complaints for about $550.00 from NY

2) http://www.motorcycleshippers.comI used them about 6 months ago, barely over $500 with insurance, no issues and in about a weeks time from Alabama

Or fly there, buy it in person, and if you are not incline to ride it back rent a uhaul van and make it a road trip...I think its about the same $$$$ if you have the time...

Hope I was of help...

I used motorcycleshippers last year to transport bike from Atlanta to houston. Cost me about 500 and arrived in about 1 1/2 weeks to my front door, no problems.

I'd love to fly up and ride back but I need to save my vac days and more importantly....the bike doesn't run. Its someone's failed attempt at a project bike that I want to try to salvage and get running.

Www.UShip.com is like an eBay of shipping. You post the route and time frame, diff companies bid for your business. Everyone also has feedback on how well their services were. Got a bike shipped from Illinois for about $550.

Don't use Uship. Half the "companies" there are not companies at all. Its Joe Schmo with no insurance or DOT or MC number putting your new bike in the back of his truck and trailer.

Have used U-ship and Forward Air. U-ship IS like Flea bay and you have to be very careful with who you use. The guy I used was "Wolverine Transport" if I remember right. No problems. Forward air is good if they have a base close to the guy who is selling.

Good Luck.

I did not know this. I used a guy that transports only bikes. He had a covered trailer full of race bikes, show bikes and choppers.

Thanks for the heads up.
