Hey everybody!

I'm so new i'm not technically even new yet cause i don't have a bike yet. I'm here to learn some stuff before i decide to just go buy a bike and have 0 clue what i'm doing. I'm not new to two wheels though as i have been racing motocross for the last 7 years. so what i wanna know is first is what i need to do before i even get a bike and what i need to do after i get one. for example.... would i need my license before getting the bike or if i would need the bike to get a license. I just basically need info on how to enter into riding a sport bike. and please no smart a$$ answers because i truely have no clue.

thanks,
chris

Welcome! You don't need a license to get a bike, nor do you need a bike to get a license. Here's what you do...

http://www.msf-usa.org/index_new.cfm...%20RiderCourse

This is a course to teach you how to ride and now in Texas it is required to get your license. They provide the bikes and some gear if need be (although I suggest you bring your own). This class will get you in the game and teach you how to get started. Then you can pick out a bike that suits you (general consensus is to start off on a smaller CC bike because they are considerably more forgiving to noobs).

well i've ridden friends bikes before and i'm most comfortable on a R6. are the courses friendly to people with little sportbike riding experience? thats the only thing i'm hesitant about. if they let me take the course with my 125 though i'd be set lol

A lot of places have either Ninja 250s, Rebel 250s, or something similar. There will be people in that class that have never touched a bike before. So I wouldn't worry too much.
