I have had a couple of recalls done on my tuono. Little stuff like a fogging dash. Aprilia is great, it is the dealers or dealer in the Houston that is a problem. The one in New Braunfels is awesome but Eximport is horrible. When trying to get my fogging dash replaced the eximport guys told me that they had to see it fog. Problem is it only fogged under certain weather conditions and when it did it was only for about 10 minutes. When I asked if I could just send them a pic they told me I would have to give them my bike and they would check it everyday to see if it fogged up. What a pain in the . The guys in New Braunfels let me send a pic and Aprilia send a new clock right away.

“It’s extremely unusual for something like this to happen on a modern motorcycle, not least an Aprilia. Their machines are more ‘Honda-like’ than any Italian manufacture and their engines usually bomb-proof.

“The launch bikes were pre-production machines with just 300km on the clock. Aprilia found the problem very quickly and traced it to a manufacturing fault with a batch of con rods.

Aprilia wins, hands down. Honda will barely even own up to the problem, and when they do, they deal with it on a case by case basis, with techs having to open the engine and deal with changing rings. In this case, Aprilia is handling it by giving us entire engines."
Guess so.

I have the will power of a 6 year old....

Spent the afternoon, chatting and hanging out with the AF1 crew yesterday. Top Notch crew!

It's always comforting to see a shop where the entire staff is competent in their job. Sounds easy to attain, but it is rarely seen.

The RSV4 looks much better in person that it does in a photos! There are some details about the bikes that are not included in the press blurbs. As I am not sure what info is to be shared, I will refrain from sharing. Just FYI, AF1 Racing has direct access to Aprilia's in house race dept.

I got to participate in one of the lunchtime think tank discussions. I could name a few major corporations that could learn something about "open dialog discussions" from these guys.

We are still crunching the numbers but my resolve crumbled when I head that V4 run! That thing with an exhaust is all ear candy, aural , and eargasms!

If anyone is looking for a race ready 1060cc RSVR with all the goodies, AF1 Racing now has one!

You sound like me. I have been looking real close at the RSV4 and S1000RR lately.

If I end up getting one of these bikes, I would probably give up my ZX-10R. The only problem is that I have it set up like I want it.

I am favoring the RSV4, but I am intrigued by the HP of the BMW. There are rumors of a new Duc, maybe a V4, so I may wait a little while before I make up my mind.

Ducati probably will come out with one. Doesn't the Desmosedici have a V4 engine? Besides they always come out with something to counter the opposition such as making the 1098 an 1198 after KTM released the RC8.

Personally, I'm waiting for the Tuono V4 to come out hopefully at the end of next year before I trade up.
