I personally, like them both-a lot. My problem is maintenance concerns and local dealer issues who happen to sell both bikes.

hmm, I learned something new. I'd never read anything making specifying that.

I would love to see Honda come out with a vtwin superbike using the oval piston design. It would be a like a skinny v4. A vtwin with v4 power. Saweeeet

it was never a reliable engine design, which is why honda ended up abandoning the project. they have horrible ring sealing issues, they overheat, along with tons of other problems that made it a terrible street bike. they are museum showpieces and nothing more.

There is much better technology now than there was then

According to Cycle World the RSV4 Factory is 450lbs Wet. Ducatis 1198S being the lightest at 434lbs weight.

The Aprilia did turn the fastest lap time at Oschersleben circuit w/ Pascal Eckhardt running a 1:32.419 the next closest was the KTM RC8R @ 1:33.572, slowest lap was on a 1198S 1:35.535

Overall testing according to Cycle World the Aprilia RSV4 Factory blows everything away... Very interesting and the Ducati is last in Overall Scoring

honda spent hundreds of millions of dollars trying to get that engine to work. it's a flawed design. you can't get rings to seal, because you can't keep equal constant pressure on them due to the non-cylindrical piston design. that's fine for race bikes that get rebuilt every 30-60 miles, but unacceptable on a street bike. all the technology in the world can't change the laws of physics. but don't get me wrong, i'm sure with enough money thrown at it, they could get it to work, but then it would take so much money, they'd have to sell the thing for at least as much as the NR750 sold for back in 92 (75k+), and they'd probably still loose money on it, just like they did the NR.

Deff a mocked up cbr1000rr. They jus added a light in the middle on the front. And look at that tail section almost identical. And for the high end model at 20k id rather have the duc 1198s. I rode my friends 1198s and totally put my 6ixxer to shame. But for 11k more it better.. awsome looking bike though.

yeah, i'm wondering what classes it will run in and be competitive with. i'm guessing since biaggi ran it alongside inlines....i'm guessing club racing will be the same.

i think im gonna get one....but we'll see what happens.
