That motor on the EX is near bulletproof. You don't need to worry.

You could probably get 100k miles out of that thing without issue.

it's not so much the revs instead of the percentage of redline. yeah you are running at 8K rpm but redline is 16K... that is no different on that engine than driveing a GM truck at 2800 rpm when redline is 5500. the bike is designed to be ridden like that, it's a high performance motor even though its a 250. Airplane engines are designed to run just below redline almost all the time and they don't blow up very often

it's fine. do your maintenance means oil changes AND valve adjustments. Go by the book, or sooner that recommended if you are doing more consistent high speed rides. I wouldn't suggest cruising for more than an hour above 75. The ex250's are very happy until you get around 75-80 mph.

Thanks for the tip. 75-80 should be in the 10k rpm range. It isnt easy on the bike and for me at those rpm range and speeds so I shouldnt really be going that fast too long.

I also read the post you made on the clutch thread. Thanks for the info.

Just keep some good oil inside and you should be good for thousands of miles. I'm always on high rpm's And I have over 24k miles on my bike. I runnin 4 up in my rear sprocket so I'm always revving high
