Acceptable?

I find it rather funny that my Avatar subjected me to a Rules Warning. There are other signatures/avatars that are much more sexual and explicit.

However- I respect the administrations wishes.

Best regards,
Robopath

Yea- i was just shocked that after ~400 posts... it is suddenly an issue.

That avatar was my one and only avatar- I made it when I registered.

Can I get some kind of explanation?

I didn't have a chance to see your previous avatar, but you can review the forum rules here:
http://www.motohouston.com/index.php?pageid=forumrules

There is a link at the top of every page that is titled "forum rules." Certain sections, such as the classifieds, will have an additional rule link under the stickies for that section.

I'm assuming this is the rule that you violated with your former avatar. Matter of fact, your new avatar is forbidden based on this rule as well:

That said, you're right that others are breaking the rule as well. Best thing I can suggest is reporting those who you think are also outside the boundaries.

At what point is a woman's upper body considered to not be a depiction of nudity?

Am I in violation as long as there is any portion of the woman's skin showing?

I believe that this pictures would be passable in a PG rated movie.

I know I may be coming across as the "challenging child" I assure you that is not my intention. I also understand that this is not a democracy. I would like to have a clear understanding of the rules.

You bring up a good point, and it is being discussed. You're right, it isn't a democracy, but we generally like the member's to have a good understanding of why we do the things we do.

I think we should ban everything that could possibly offend anyone.

Doesn't a world of bland mediocrity, with no individualism or creativity sound better than a world that might offend someone?
I certainly could not enjoy reading online posts made by anyone who thought that a picture emphasizing the beauty of the human form was acceptable.
What would be allowed next?
Dare I guess that we could ever tolerate a thinly veiled drug reference?
What if someone said something political that I didn't like? I might curl up and die!
Don't even mention religion in my presence, because if you disagree with me, I will become violently ill.
Oh and what about race? Someone could be very offended by a racial remark and then what would we do? All those objects of the remark would just be infuriated and have to join me in curling up!
So, please make the rules more strict because, allowing anyone to see the subtle curve of a breast or the slope of a toned abdomen into horrible depths of candy striped underwear would no doubt be the kind of disgusting display that caused the downfall of acient Rome.
And we can't have that here at MH can we?
