If you buy one that you have to add the acid read the instructions. There are right ways and wrong ways to fill a new battery. You have to let it sit after filling.

interesting. and I thought it would be simple.

@Romeo36 - what battery would you put in your bike?

@bluewave18 - would filling a new battery with acid be the same as filling my current battery with acid?

Filling the old one wont help.
There are air bubbles that need to settle off of the plates when you fill a new battery. I didnt know about it till I read about it. Fill it then let it sit for about 15-20 min. before you put a current to it.

That's another option, I think you can purchase a warranty too.

I picked up a battery at cycle gear. It has a lifetime warranty for about $100.

Quote:
Step 7: Charge the battery for 3 hours before installation. Do not exceed 3amp hour for charger output.
Does this mean I can a special device to charge it? Can I charge it with a car battery?

Do NOT charge it with a car battery!
Do NOT charge it with a car battery charger unless you can adjust the charging current down to 3amp/hr or less.
If you are not sure then have a shop charge it for you or get a Battery Tender that will charge it and then trickle charge it, to keep it at peak charge indefintely.<<<$30-40
