this is from an old post from Trdvet:

"LP has to be mounted on the rear of the vehicle and not obstructed, have 2 two reflectors (red) that can be seen 100-600 feet at night under low beams and a LP light (white) that can be seen from 50 ft. Traffic law is huge and plus everything has to meet federal/nhsta standards which is huge in itself."

the tags on the 600rr were always kept up, but the plate was prolly mounted illegal.

the tags on the 500r are always out but the plate is always mounted oem

Yeah, a State Trooper pulled me over in the day time (rainy, but great visibility) and gave me a ticket for no red reflectors on rear. Two months later, Bosslady & I are riding and he pulls us both over. He says, "Hey I remember you". I say, yep, I fixed it....see the red reflectors. He says, "Yeah, that's nice, but where are the amber reflectors on the front?"
