I'll post my .02
you can get UI/UInsured Motorist coverage. but most if not all ins comps will make you reject it period. I know this b cause I'm a ins agent, and we don't write policies with that coverage to reduce our fraud risk.

i have been in 2 accidents in the last 4 yrs. where the other party were not insured. went to court and won, but have not seen a penny til dis day.

so, best is to get full coverage instead.

these are our policies, myb not the same with bigger ins comps like statefarm or allstate.

If you have liability coverage, you can buy uninsured coverage as well. The state requireds a minimum of $25/50K policy limits. That means what ever happens, the insurance is only pay out $50K covering the vehicles damage and injuries. Have anyone seen the price of a new car lately? $40-50K as average. Should you plowed a new vehicle, you will be sued by the insurance company for the remaining balanced.
