so I went down last night...

So I'm sitting at a red light. There is a car next to me and that is all. Towards the end of the cycle, I look in my mirror and see a car coming up on me fast so I start flashing my light and I figure it would be best to move away. I start to move and then I hear the tires screeching and I get nailed and tossed off the bike. ****...at least she had insurance. I went to the hospital and turns out I have a sprained ankle and bruised big toe. The exhaust pipe came up and hit the back of my foot during impact. Other than that I am about my bike.

Wholly ! Good to hear that you are still kicking, as for the bike fix it up and get EVERYTHING checked and do some upgrades. I would be worried about the wheel/swingarm and bearings'n such. Are your chain adjusters stripped from the impact?

Yes I was wearing my gear. I always wear my full leathers and it paid off last night. My new icon hooligan gloves have scratches on the palm rivets and there are scratches on my helmet. Guess I will be getting a new bike and helmet.

The swing arm does not even move. It is lock in place. I think the bike will be totaled. The superhawks' swingarm bolts the engine case. So if that is jacked then It will cost more than it is worth to fix

glad you were aware of your surroundings and saw her coming. Thats the wreck that scares me most, someone hauling and plowing into me.
I'm glad you had your gear on and are ok.

very sore this morning. ER gave me good drugs to take though. I guess I get a vacation from work today. I can't stress enough that everyone wears their gear. If I had only street clothes on i would have had a few more injuries. Especially my foot that is black and blue...even with my sidis on. They took a impact. The girl that hit me was freaked out. She works the late shift at wall mart and was half asleep at the wheel.

Glad you're o.k.!
Don't let the insurance bully you on what the bike is worth or accept a "token" payment.
Do your research, find out what blue book is, plus mods, gear, lost wages and any medical.
Do not sign a release of medical liability until you are completely satisfied you're o.k., and don't let them tie the medical to the bike, they are 2 seperate items.
I'm not saying to rape the insurance co. / other driver, just make sure to get what you fairly deserve.
If you need anything give me a call.

Patrick
