Oil change interval?

How many track days between oil changes. I have heard a few varying opinions. I would like to hear more.
Thanks

depends how hard your running. I used to do fresh oil every day and a new filter every other when I rode for myself all day. If instructing I changed it every 2-3 days.

BTW I used cheap oil bc I'm a cheap

On my SV650 I changed it every 2 trackdays. Oil & Filter. On a race weekend, I'd start with new oil & filter, and change it after the event. Essentially oil & filters are cheaper than engines.

Send a message via AIM to houseofpaint
like john said, i start off every race weekend with fresh oil/filter....even if i only did 1 trackday prior, i would still use fresh oil.

if we're talking trackdays only....i'd change it every 2-3 trackdays.

I change it right before the season and again right after (I can only make about 5 or 6 TD's/season)...I just feel better knowing all the old/used oil is out of there for during the off season...and I have new oil for cranking and putting around the neighborhood once a week

What kind of oil do y'all use? What if it was synthetic? Would you still change it every race weekend?

I use either Repsol, Motorex, or Motul. All fully synthetic. $50 - 60 for 4l.

New oil every track day, new filter every other track day (unless the track days are far apart)

Motul, new for every race. Motorcycles Unlimited carries it as well.

Motul, full synthetic, three track days per change... or I pluck one of Gabe's hairs from his beard and drop it in where you fill the oil. The bike gets really shiney and fun after that.

Change it on my VTR every time I put on new tires plus 1 time at the end of track day season. Usually 3 times per year. Every 2000 miles on my DRZ 400. Seldom on my RZ-350.

I dont really see the need for changing after every track day or even 2, we arent talking .89 recycled oil here guys, Is it really necessary to change full synthetic after 100-300 miles?

I recommend every other track day and absolutely every race weekend.
My oil analysis at this pont after 30 so odd years consists of seeing hundreds of engines at the end of the season.
You can tell who's changed their oil frequently and who hasn't. An experienced eye can even sometimes tell the type of oil that's been run.

Oils cheap, engines are expensive. My 2 cents ymmv.

Good enough for me.

Car and bike get the same treatment.
Good quality oil, once a year.

I save my money for those Pirelli's.
