Very nice. I'm very happy you had enough sense to take pictures while you were in shock and agony. That's the most important thing... except there are no photos of the bike? Where did it go? Not much damage, I'm guessing from your statement about the sliders saving it.

Now- I'm really surprised they sew that up. And with only scrubbing in the ER...

Not to be a downer, but if you feel like ANYTHINg is wrong you should run back to the dr. It was so deep, it could become infected pretty easily. I hope all is well, though, and you heal up nicely. It'll be a cool scar- chicks dig scars.

I remember your intro thread so I guess you're pretty new to riding and all. I ride Westheimer all the time and I hate it cause it's so busy with cars criss-crossing, stopping, cutting over and swerving all the time. So any lessons learned? Any pointers? Where you pretty aware of your surroundings or did the car come out of no where? Anything you think you think you coulda done differently in hindsight?

I'm always hyper-aware when I'm riding (ESP Westheimer) and I know this could have easily been me. I hope that heals up better and quicker than it looks bro.

yah im a newbe, but unlike most people even the vets i ride my bike daily< i've logged almost 4k miles in 2 months of riding, practice makes perfect. lesson learned is happens being safe or not! I saw the car last second and same for them, traffic blocked both of our views so it is what it is ya know what i mean. I dont blame them and I cetainly wont blame myself. happens and glad everyone is okay.... only thing i coulda done different was stay off Westheimer. Its dangerous and we all know it, life goes on and I cant dwell on what ifs. @ first I did and it just doesnt help....thnx for the post..

u asked about the bike....the bike has over 4K in damage so far, maybe a lil more or less that was just a quick guess from AJ Foyt. Theyre taking care of me tho, great customer service there! they even went and picked up my bike right away and paid the fees for me and did all the foot work. all i did was sign permission for them to pick the bike up..I will know more on Tues after my insurance adjuster shows up....As for infection trust me i know, i have a great family doctor that my dad used during his biceps tear and he is great with this kind of stuff. i will have a follow up soon.....thnx for the post..
