Night in holding cell
Bailed out($500)-court date set for a 8months ahead
charged with evading arrest (felony) and I also had a speeding ticket of 185mph ( possible license suspension with load of fines)

Hired a lawyer ($2,000)
Speeding ticket dropped
Charges lowered to fleeing an officer ( misdemeanor)
Went to court
Agreed to a deferred prosecution( meaning the court never files charges)
Deferred prosecution consisted of No drinking in public, defensive driving($20.00), 30 hours of community service at my choice of location and a fine of $200.00
Court date reset for a year

Went back to courts, turned in my defensive driving, proof of community service, and a receipt for the paid fine.
Case dismissed
Record clean other than my arrest which I can get expunged at anytime.

What a great point. This way another life is ruined and instead of the "runner" changing his/her way of life, he/she goes into a bigger hole since getting a job, paying for school, doing time, paying fees and taking car of him/herself is pretty much impossible.

Or.... The prosecutor could make it clear the situation the runner is in, make an example of how the law can still be applied from a rehabilitation point of view instead of a sheer punishment.

Point is. I've learned my lesson. I'm thankful of how things turned out and I can only try and convince others that it's not worth it.
