Sounds awesome! Do I need to register as a PGR beforehand?

Cool. Sorry sbfuller for Reposting, but Thanks all the same!

I'm not sure when it'll be over, but if you follow the link here, www.setexaspgr.com , you can follow the link and maybe even call the Deputy State Captain, Billy Walker. His contact numbers are posted in the announcement, and I'm not sure if I should post it here.

I'm probably gonna cage it, since I want to take my wife and daughter with me.

You can register at the Staging location, but get there early if you can.

You can also go here www.patriotguard.org to register with the national organization first, then after you get your PGR#, sign on here for the local Chapter www.setexaspgr.org , to get the email anouncements for missions and events (click on the "Request Email Blast" button at the top left).

Here are some pics of the event. Most of the pics have my unit the 36th ID Band, but you can see quite a bit of the 72 Combat Infantry Brigade. Please excuse the date time, sigh I didn't notice it before.

The Intercontinental Hotel by the Galleria really prepares the Band for deployment

Waiting around for the 72nd to practice

DSCN0695
Our turn
DSCN0698
Lunch was sammiches and soda at T-minus 20 minutes was start of lunch. By the time I got through the line is was T-minus 7. I still ate and finished before others were done.
DSCN0699
DSCN0700
We then marched from the convention center over to Minute Maid Park (in the rain, poor instruments) and saw the Patriot Guard Riders lining the end with the family members of the 72nd (sorry I was marching and couldn't take picts).
Then We lined up in the hall just before the entrance to the field.
DSCN0701
With the 72nd after us.
DSCN0703
Lots of people in attendance. Definately the biggest I have been to. Fortunately, even with the multitude of speakers, it only lasted an hour!
Godspeed to the 72nd.

Hey Joe, as obviously shameless as I am in trying to get fellow riders to join the PGR...

You, at least, as my long time friend, need to join and be a part of us. I know our times are limited, and it's alot more fun to ride through the Forest amongst our friends, but there are plenty of weekends throughout the year for that, and only on occasions do we need you to ride these missions with us.

We haven't had too many KIA missions recently, and thank for that. But the fact that we are now focusing more on Afghanistan, and noting that this was the largest deployment from Texas since WWII, may mean that we need more SE Texas PGRs now more than ever... and again, hopefully we won't have any missions. Reality is reality, though, and we could use you.

I am going to join up. I first have to do the gigs for the Army, but after that I will try to free up some time for PGR. I feel it is a very worthy cause.
