missing filter on gxsr

Just bought a gxsr 600 and I noticed that the filter by the headlight is missing. Its the grill that cover the two air passage way on each side of the headlight. Any thought why its not there and should I be concerned?

Ordering the OEM piece may be kinda pricey. There are a ton of GSXR riders on here and I am pretty sure you can get one on the cheap from someone.
Now, is the duct itself still there and just the grill is missing? If that is the case, what I would do is go to a local hardware store and get basically chicken wire, just thicker if you can find it. Any type of metal grill type material will work. Bend and attach. Spray paint if needed. If you really want to do it up, remove the other grill and make a new one for that side so they match. Can be done rather cheap and pretty easy.....

both are missing. Ive seen what you are talking bout done to cars. The results arent to desirable. How would I attach it. Maybe I just go OEM. The problem is putting it on. Or should I just not mess with it?

My ducts are a pain in the to keep on because of my race fairing stay. So, I just leave them off completely. When I am transporting the bike to/from the track, I tape the wholes up. However, when I am running at the track, I take the tape off. I haven't noticed a difference at all, good or bad. The bike is a tad bit louder, bit you don't really notice it.

You best bet may be posting a Want To Buy thread on here and see what people have laying around. Also, check the WERA forums. I am sure you can get stock replacements for cheap.

Your airfilter will catch anything that enters the ducts. I wouldnt be too concerned about it.

Look under the Parts For Sale section. Coulda swore someone was parting out several year gixxers. Might be worthwhile to ask him.
