CMRA Transponders for '10

I had heard that CMRA was doing something different with transponders for 2010. Is it set in stone yet? Was I even listening to the right rumor mill?

I seem to remember several people trying to unload them mid-season because CMRA wasn't going to be using that setup again next year

Your info is inaccurate. Shoot your informant!

AMB transponders will work with the CMRA timing/scoring system in 2010.

We are in the design phase of a project using RF tags and I believe that it could be used in a racing application. The tags are very cheap and you could store tons of information on the tags. You could have medical information on them and emergency contact information that a portable reader could access in a few seconds. The tags can be written to several times a second if needed. You could actually keep endurance laps stored on the tags. The integration into a database could take awhile and the initial equipment expensive but it would save money over time.
