06 GSXR 600 FI light help...

Just bought the bike a couple of months back. Only had 750 miles on it. The FI light has come on about 3 times. I've tried to set it in dealer mode to catch the code but once I shut it off and back on, the FI light goes away.

I was told (and Googled) about a common problem with either the exhaust valve or the set valve on this year gixxer. It starts up and runs fine, even the 1 single time that the FI light stayed on while I was riding (to see if it affected anything).

Apparently this problem was covered under the manf warranty, which the bike no longer has. Even though I'm not sure this is causing the FI, anyone have this happen to them and any tips on what to look for or try?

On another note, if I do get the FI light can i jump it into dealer mode and get the code without turning it off and back on first?

Bring it by. I can hook it up to the SDS and read the code even if the lights not on.

Yeah that happens to my bike every blue moon, but the performance does not change at all. Take it to Patrick if you feel its needed. Sometimes if you cut the bike off then cut it back on it goes away.

I did notice I got this message also when I got fuel from a certain place. As if it was lesser quality or something.

That's what I did a couple of times already. I just got the bike but I'd rather be sure it's not a legit problem that's gonna turn into $$$ or a broken down bike on the side of the road later.

Did you ever find out what code your FI was on for though? Was it for the exhaust or set valve too?
