Oh and the carb that was in the box was from a 70's SHOVELhead, not ironhead. thats the one that the previous owners put on and it wasnt NEARLY enpugh gas, it would die on the highway because the bowl would run out. the one that was on there when you bought it was from a 90's model sportster with bigger jets and a fresh rebuild that i did myself. That shovelhead carb was on there for MAYBE a week at most before i got that other one from a respectable shop here in BCS. The guys that work there have been doing this for YEARS and one of the guys has a 00 lightning, they all told me that the shovelhead carb was never enough and sold me the sportster carb with new jets and gasket kit.
shovelhead/ironhead. its the cheap way out and it doesnt work. THE ONLY THREAT I SENT WAS WHEN I SAID "WE'LL SEE" WHEN U SAID "FINE, NOT MY FAULT YOU FELT THAT WAY. WE'RE DONE WITH THIS...PEACE" sent1207pm sep.28

Situation sucks either way. But he had been trying to sell the bike for months, yet kept riding it without problems. And he even spent some time and money in redoing the fairings to make the bike look better. So if he knew there was a problem (which he didn't), why would he continue to ride it for over a month from the first point of trying to sell it?

Just saying...

1> Take the drama somewhere else

2> Buying a used bike... take it somewhere and get a mechanic to check it out before sealing the deal.

$3500 for a 10-year-old Buell was your first mistake.

Do feel sorry for you though. That sucks.

It's called an educational lesson & common sense.

You bought a used bike & didn't get it checked out by a reputable M/C mechanic.

Now as said... it's nothing more than a bunch of 'he said', 'she said'.
Take it to PM's.

I've lost count of how many people or buddies have bought used bikes and instantly had issues with them. For example, my brother bought a 955i and we spent the next two weeks rewiring the bike cause it was all jacked up. The risks you run with a used bike.
