Have you thought of something like this???
http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/pr...19/0/home.aspx

Reasonably sporty, comfortable (adjustable at that), decent looking, light and most importantly not explosively powerfull like other sport bikes. A bike like this would be great to learn on and still have a little bit of that " appeal". Lets face it, you got to have a bike you like to look at too. LOL
I'm nervous about how hard it is to get used to a crotch rocket, we had a pocket bike and man everytime I rode that thing it fell with me. It's just that I'm used to the sitting up right on dirt bikes. Is it that hard to adjust? When I was younger I always wanted a Honda CBR in red and black!

or you could look into a triumph. street triple 675. upright seating position. easy to reach controls. and very easy to ride. clutch and throttlecontrol and brakeing. they are less than $9000 new with a 2 year warranty. and triumphs american heritage is as old as harleys accept that their british. but wait till the harley guys get a look at it and instead of giving you because it's a "rice burner" they become interested. check out the new 2010 triumph thunderbird for your husbands next bike. 1600cc parallel twin with 6 speed gear box.

Welcome to the street addiction and MH. It is very easy to fall inlove w sportbikes after you sit on them. With anything do your research first and have patience. Talk to peeps that own the bikes and learn what is required to keep them(between manufactorers) running etc.

Dont be a stranger to meet and greets and get your husband to sign up

And Mike(burnboy), some day you'll ride a different bike other then your triumph, be impressed, and start preaching otherwise JK maahn

I work at HW6 and Little York.

I've got a Street Triple, like Mike mentioned above. You're welcome to sit on it and see if it fits any time. It's a way more relaxed "crotch rocket".
