My wife and I are the ones who chased him down. We were at beltway 8 and Westheimer. We heard screeching tires followed by a crunch and saw the bike next to us hit the ground, with a minivan planted in the back of it. The girl on the back was freaking out, the guy was much calmer, even with a gapping hole in his leg. The criminal got out of his car and exchanged some words in Spanish then went back to his car and proceeded to flee the scene. I wasn’t sure if he was fleeing, so I asked the guy that got hit, he said yes, so we took off after him with OnStar on the line. OnStar was great, but the first dispatch I talked to was well uh... After arguing on the phone with the dispatch girl (about where the accident happened) for about 3-4 min finally I got transferred to a sergeant. Once I told him what happened, and where I was, he was very helpful. After I got transferred to him, it took 3-5 min for the cops to catch the guy. I was very impressed with the response time. Luckily when we got back to the scene of the accident we found out the couple on the bike were fine, and they got to find out that the police caught the SOB. Hopefully everyone would do the same for a fellow motorist. I hate hit and run / no insurance / drunk drivers. Oh and we weren’t the only people that followed him, but the other people got caught by traffic and couldn’t see were the guy went.

And yes, it looked to me like he was resisting, a good tazing would have defiantly been justified.
