Oh and congrats on not just choosing a 250 as your first bike, but also a used one that's already been down a time or two. You will outgrow it soon enough, but you'll learn to ride better, and in less time than if you bought a bike bigger than a 500. No biggy, since you can sell it off for probably whatever you paid for it, once you become a better rider.

I say keep the mods to the Rosary mod , so that in case you ever do drop it (which is likely), you won't be off at the amount of damage that it may incur. Ride Smart and Ride Safe!

Smart choice on a first bike. Congrats and when you feel a little more comfortable take it to the track. You will have a blast and learn soooo much.

looking for a trackbike!!

Def a smart choice on a first bike. You will learn to ride, and THEN add power when you step up. Most people that start out with a 250 are much faster when they get a 600 than others from what I have seen.

First thing i put on my bike was a rosary too. Wrapped it around the left handle bar grip inbetween the switch housing. Congrats on the bike, prob first person ever that did everything right. PM me if you wanna ride this weekend man. Slow ride no problem.

I guess the gremlin can hang off wherever.

For the Rosary? Isn't it standard protocol to hang it off the rearview mirror?

The gremlin bell goes on the lowest part of the bike.

I *still* haven't figured out where I want to put my lil' gremlin bell. For now it's in my Cycle backpack until I can find a good spot for it.

But where do I hang the rearview mirror? Last I know I only had side mirrors...

@ intermission:
Maybe the passenger footpeg? The other lower part would be the driver footpegs but it might fly off somewhere... Hmmm...

@ helios:
thanks for the invite. Unfortunately I work on the weekends. (gotta have income to pay for the bike and insurance ) Although I can ask off a week in advance...

The bike is not in 100% working order just yet and I need insurance :( I will shop around for insurance tomorrow. Also, I have ordered the repair manual for the bike and will work on some maintenance next week. I should be riding with y'all soon after that.

If you hang it off either of the footpegs, it'll be gone on your first ride, after your first few turns.

Looks like you got a centerstand. I'd say hang it off some bracket mount of the centerstand, and that will put it at the lowest point, yet centered on the bike. I'd still keep it up so the bottom of it does not go any lower than the lowest part of the bike at that particular location. Make sense?

BTW, I noticed your sig. Sorry for your loss. Any relationship to Roman and Lina Umali?

Ares:

Way to go..!!! Excellent choice and looks very cool in that color scheme. Those are bullet proof engines.

I think the first things to check/perform maintenance: (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

1 - Oil and Oil filter change.

2 - Chain (clean, lube & adjust).

3 - Check brake pads.

4 - Fluids.

5 - Electric (Battery & lights)
