Everyone is responsible for their own life. I wouldn't wait for someone else to decide whether or not to hold a riders meeting, especially if there's a possibility of someone that I don't know riding behind me at some point. We all need to step up

Our group has been doing the sunday ride for over 7 years without any incidents and that's why we never felt it was necessary to have a rider's meeting, but now with the group getting bigger and new riders joining us each week, i think it's a good time to have a rider's meeting just to have everybody on the same page. I am sure the riders in the first group already know what they are doing but for all new riders that just joined our sunday ride it would be good to put some kind of rules so they don't hurt themselves or others around them!

Bevo has mentioned a few good points and i will appreciate any other suggestions to include in the meeting. I am all for safety but at the same time i don't want to bore people with so many rules, after all its all about having fun!

Does this ride separate into groups? i.e. Advanced, intermediate, beginner, etc...

Yes, it has in the past. I led an intermediate group. One guy had a run-off and broke his clutch lever

I hear ya bevo, the front runners know what was going on, but alot of different cats showed up, and it was truly hard to get everyone's attention. I think not doing one though, make the noobs really push to keeep up which was not a good thing, obviously.

Well I was there on my 2 fiddy and did my best to keep up with the sportier bikes and ride within my limits. However, after the 2nd stop on the way back to 59 I got stuck right behind a LEO and was totally left behind. It was at that point I just headed home since I had no idea where the group was going.

Honestly, I might have been left behind but I was having fun. I saw no need to push myself to keep up and risk wiping out. Better safe than splattered.

From a noob rider/new to the Sunday Ride perspective I think a meeting or at *least* a quick run down of where the we would be going would have been helpful.

I have been looking for a rider to volunteer as the second pack leader for 5 weeks in a row and so far nobody has shown any interest :( Maybe a map would be a good idea for all the new riders that don't know our usual routes.

We are a ways away from the forest, its like an all day deal to go out there for us.

Thats why persoanlly,I ride down south, close, and still have time to come home, eat, shower and go to work.

I love the roads up North but I don't have the time on Sunday... Saturdays I could do though. What you think Frankie?

I'll lead an intermediate group again after football season is over. I'll need someone to sweep because it's not cool to leave anyone behind, especially someone with less experience.

I always have a blast when I'm out on my cycle, no matter what speed everyone is going. I will be doing the forest run Cali is setting up on Oct 4. (possibly the one Mudbug is setting up too)You should come out, Ares, if your ninja is ready to go. There will be at least another two fiddy there on the 4th. (my ninja twin!) I will be in the slow group just enjoying the twisties at a less-than-ludicrous speed pace. Think one of the guys in the front on the Sunday ride went to plaid.
