i wouldnt do it. get a 600 instead and drop coin on getting it prepped. the EX500 should cost around $2k but i personaly wouldnt buy that type bike for track duty since i dont know if there is a big aftermarket for that style and part availability. ive also read alot of people taking to the track only after they swapped out parts from the zx6r.

maybe if i already owned the bike would i take it.

well, this would also be used daily, and be a learning tool for courtney. Its Pauls old bike that he sold to courtney's brother.

if your getting it for your girl it sounds like it would have a double purpose and a good idea.

well, id ride it daily, shed learn on it and ride it when we ride together, and Id track it once a month. When I took my 900 out there, I felt it was WAY too much for me, Id rather have more fun ringing out a 500 and just have fun. I dont plan on being competitive, just a fun bike that I dont have to worry about tearing up at the track. Ive ridden this bike, and it feels like it has enough umph to get me in and out of the corners at MY speed.

oh, i thought you meant buying it for track only. like the way people buy wrecked bikes for track only and not street.

I just dont wanna drop alot of dough on a track bike. I dont see myself getting too serious with it, and if I do, ill upgrade later. My other option was looking for a wrecked sv650..... but again, id have to dump some cash. And then it would be track only.

on www.kawiforums.com we have a 250/500 sub forum. after you get to do a track day you really will get into it. im glad i got my 636 becasue its just right for both street and track and it doesn lack in performance. if it would of been too much or to little, i would have looked for another track only bike.

by the way they do have alot more 500's track ready than i realized. it seems like they have more money invested into it to make it competitive. check out this link.

i wanna do track days, but dont really want to do it on the busa. i think you still could have fun on a 500. I mean ive never done a track day and i would not be too mad about dropping a bike like that.
