Exactly my point. I have told my wife this very thing for years, that she would be ok if she had a back rest. And now that I finally got her into a Goldwing seat (albeit a trike), this has confirmed to her to a certain degree that she would feel safe and enjoy it (which she did). Now she is willing to try an OEM Goldwing. And I know once she does try it, the deal is done. I know she will then start riding with me if I had a Goldwing. I'm so confident that this will be the case that I have already put my R1 up for sale.

The bikes handle that good.

ru going to rent one from the place cris suggested?

That place no longer rents Goldwings, just HDs. But that's ok, BC hooked me up today, was able to take the wife for about a 15 minute ride. That's all that was really needed, just enough to see if she felt safe on one. Man, you should have seen that grin on the wifes' face afterwards, it was ear to ear. We're one step closer to getting one. Right now she's taking a nap. When she wakes up, we shall talk some more. But at least there is light now.....that short 15 minute ride showed her why I like the motorcycling world so much.

My father in law is getting ready to sell his Goldwing if you are interested. It is not new (maybe a 97), but not sure what you are looking to spend or if you are looking to go new. If interested, let me know and I'll get you pics.

I got it from Martin at Stubbs on Telephone Rd. They treated me right over there, I got a fair price that I can live with. As you already know, it has the spoiler.....also has the navigation system, heated grips and heated seats. We'll be hitting the the twisties this weekend to see how it handles. Going to be in the hill country camping in November for 10 days. I just wish the wife could drive the truck and tow our travel trailer so I could ride the bike there. Sure would like to have it with us, just have to figure out a way to bring it.

Not weird at all, no weirder than a 44 year old man riding an R1. I've been wanting a Goldwing my entire adult life. This is the ONLY motorcycle that I can see myself still owning 20 years from now.
