triumph dealer

I am new to this area and to this site. Be easy on me gentlemen! Anyways, my question is do I have a right to be mad...story goes..I made an appointment with British USA in south Houston. Took the bike there last thursday and they never started to look at the bike till Tuesday morning. They can't replicate the problem but they keep taking my bike out on runs. (the problem is that the bike doesn't start up right away when rode for a while, basically when its hot..it just does a ticking..not sylanoid, not starter, and not battery.) I think the problem is an ignition coil (Conveniently priced at $121 a piece) SO they call me today to tell me my bike overheated in the parking lot while they were warming it up for 20minutes.Its never overheated and it was low on antifreeze, but they tell me the reserve tank was overfilled! Should I be fuming and demand the new 675 daytona at half price or what!??

You can demand anything, but I doubt you will get it. Engine swap? maybe.. Replaced bent valves or cracked engine bits.. most likely . :dontknow:

2006 675 versus 2002 955 - you cannot compare. completely different bikes. I hate to say this but I have heard of problems with British USA and their service dept before! I like the guys there and I won't trash talk em coz they always take care of me - but I am aware that they just got a new service manager and this story doesnt surprise me. As for what to do, I dont know it's up to you but I would be - Oh and to make things worse, I have to take mine there for a new ignition sometime soon so I might be posting my issues in the very near future.

Why did they say it overheated?
The fan should have come on between 215-220*, was there any damage or did it just puke anti-freeze?

They said it overheated cause they left it in the parking lot for 20mins at idle. But I've let it run before and its never spit out anything. When the manager talked to me on the phone she didn't sound concerned why it overheated, she was ready to get the bike back on the road for another test drive! I'm sure my fan came on....I hope it did..Its always worked for me. I've gone to the guys at KT Cycle nextdoor to eastside Honda. They are hilarious and treat me well...plus they have a keg in the front lobby
Thanks for your comments guys..I'm getting on the phone right now!
