Mamola V Spencer V Lawson V Roberts

The classic 1983 Silverstone 500cc GP,

look at the size of the grid
not sure if you can really tell but Mamola was so down on straight line speed
check out some of his lines ,

I'd love to see LeMans starts brought back, but I don't think there's any way in hale they'd get these bikes started

I was always a big fan of King Kenny! I don't know why, but the 500cc GP bikes just seem like they are going faster than the current GP bikes even though they aren't. Maybe its the two stroke sound.

I think it was because they were always so out of control. Incredible talent with those guys back then...

I liked Kenny's victory wheelies too. They were often done at about 130 mph or so for a long way and he often did them one handed because he had his left hand up showing a #1 with his index finger. I always thought a good photo of one of those would make for a good poster.
