, funny i don't want to be king, i just wanna be able to co-exist along w/ other schools. i wish everybody would take the MSF before getting a bike, and sure i wish you take it "at my location" but more importantly i just want you to take the class, and if there's one more convenient to your local, take it there vs ONLY AT MY SHOP. thats the difference of not-for-profit vs private business.

But aren't all prices set by the state unless you're licensed by the state as opposed to being contracted by the state...understand Riders Edge is the only ones licensed, that's why they can charge more.

not sure how price is set, ask challen he's part owner and know's more of the inner workings. Riders Edge charges more cuz it's an HD program other then that they do the same things and have the same "authority" as the MSF programs. RE is based on the MSF program.

not sure what you mean licensed? i give out state cert. upon passing the class, and i'm not RE cert........

some states MSF class it's free, others even more then here. alot has to do w/ state funding.

where do you teach at?

fixed it for ya, RX

Being 'contracted' with the state, the rates (other than specials) are set by TX DPS. Riders Edge is a program 'licensed' with the TX DPS teaching the same curriculum but must furnish their own materials and bikes (buell blast)...not a very good training bike for beginning riders in my opinion, so they can and do set their own rates, usually close to double. They do however take you to the showroom floor, the service techs, and the motorclothes dept. (Nice for teaching the protective gear segment, tho)

= pure marketing.........:laughing6

like said ask challen about "base rate" if there is such a a thing. if it's an MSF cert. program it's state licensed.

I have to say that the MSF was probly the smartest thing that anyone can do. I looked around the area that I live and didn't find anything that impressed me so I went to the net and asked some friends and searched the net for some courses in Houston, Austin and San Antonio. Out of all the reviews I read and people I talked with Houston was the way to go so I did some more digging and narowed it down and finaly desided on the MSF course offered by Awesome Cycles, based on what I heard and read. Now I can't say that it is better than any one else that offeres it but It made me feel alot better about taking the course there when I found out that one person in the class those two days flew in from Bosnia just to take the course at that school. The instructors were were outsdanting the range was great, the whole experence has to be the best in Texas. When i got back to Corpus Christi I went straight to the place that I bought my bike and told then to send every one there that wants to take a MSF course. I wouldn't go anywere else and I wouldn't send anyone anywere else but like I said I can't speak for the other courses out there but my personal opinion and from the people that I taked to and read the comments of it is the best hands down, and as soon as I am ready I will take the advanced course there too.
