Track day was awesome

i left at 4 and as of then there had been no crashes at all. That track is great, very tiring. All the people in the org. were very instructive and helpfull.. Met alot of really nice people today, got to tour the whole facility with Tim, he's an awesome guy, he helped me out so much. before lunch i was running a 1:49 and after lunch i was quicker but didnt check to see how fast i had been runnin b/c i got a little help from some one, following me with a transponder so the times aren't exact but close enough for me. Pilot Powers worked out really good

thats all for now..

my friend juan went behind the pits and onto Turn 2 and the straight. next time we all go out there ill let you take the pit bike around. on Turn 16 and 17 you can actually park your car over there in the parking lot and look all the way down the front straight.

word, it was absolutely awesome, I'm finally comming to terms with the track. Buck Beasly, you da man. And JMac, a class act, very helpfull with us the noobs. This track is very technical, very demanding, but oh so sweet.

Petetlr has a few pics, mostly of him riding, I took them while cornerworking at turn 7, he needs to post them.

Hey carbon, what bike were you riding?

It was great to see Alonzo and Jason there as well, too bad Alonzo had a close encounter with the pave. Fix that thing and ride again, mang!

Perfect weather, temperature, free lunch, and all the help you need from the intructors, couldn't been any better.

Very fun I rode AM and worked corners PM. There was a pretty bad lowside in last session of expert group, GSX-R hit the curbing and caught some air in entrance to Turn 2 (sweeper). Huge gouge in the pavement of the turnout. Fortunately he was fine and the bike didnt do too bad considering... Had a GSX-R 1000 vs a 600 between two fast riders, that was fun to watch. They were turning 1:45-1:47's by my watch...so give or take a few seconds. Was cool to see the 600's advantage in the corners, didnt give up too much in the straights either.

Guy on a nice motard (forgot his name) was turning consistent 2:10's, which I thought was pretty good for a 400 single.

Great time, great track, LOTS of runoff room, highly recommended. Also, the track is VERY tire friendly...my tires looked like they had been sanded with fine grit, unlike the usual TWS (Texas World Speedway) marbles. The side to side transitions are great and a pretty good workout, when I finally figured out diamond's edge and the bus stop my left slider was getting roughed up pretty good. I have to do a whole day next time, just when I learned the track it was lunchtime! Thanks Buck and I will be back!

What an awesome day, It was nice to meet more motohoustonians,carbonr1 gixxer bill, twisted metal and friend all the way from corpus/san antonio area.
Mullato and wife, hot chicken strips, riddler and of course myself (Dr. Gonzo)
were all in attendence. I hope I didn't miss anyone.

Hi, my name is alonzo I have an addiction, a track addiction. Well I had my first track accident, I tucked the front end in turn ten, slide about 20 yards
(or what seemed like 20yards) the good thing is that one of our fellow motohoustonians witnessed the accident(mullato) and on a scale of 1 to 10
I got and 8, not bad. Damage to bike is minimal and I was able to walk away.

I can not thank Buck and Longhorn enough, you guys put on an amazing show
always an awesome experience.:notworthy

THANK YOU GUYS!!!! It was a trully awesome day, we bored the ambulance crew, and the crash truck only rolled three times. That last low side of the day was Alan "MF" Tan. We were going at it pretty good and he kept leaving the door open between 1 and two so I had to stick it in there. Got him there three laps in a row but the 1K wold spank me on the straights!!! Our fourth lap, I go through and he comes around the outside grinning at me then WHAM!! Alan was fine and he'll have that bike together in a week for less than 300.00. If you don't know him, Alan parts bikes out for a living, and can find you ANYTHING very cheap. He took over the Sum of All Parts part-out side of the business. SOAP rocks for OEM and used parts if you are in the need, they are the only folks I have on speed dial. He fixxed up GixxerBill with a 1K front rotor on half hour notice, deliverd it to the track and Bill was gettin' it on all day. Bill it's time to go to race rubber!!! Darkies on every exit is usually a pretty good indication you're about to surpass your street tires capability. Had a blast runnin' with the Corpus Cronies. Must be that Exlax that makes you fellas so smooth. HA!! Look forward to seeing you all again very soon, see the other announcment post about schedule changes for May.

Thanks again for everyone's support, please tell you friends and spread the word anyway you can. We need to start selling these out or they will reduce our dates, or we'll have to up the cost. We don't want that!!!!! Safe speed to all...........................

Hey you too.

Thanks to Buck and his crew. The instructors were great and really took an interest in helping all of the riders in our class. If anyone is planning a track day make sure you go with Longhorn Motorcycle School. You'll get your money's worth!

Sanchez came out to turn 12 to check out expert group for a while, was cool to meet him and talk about his return to AMA, very good guy. I usually just follow GP but might have to tune in to AMA superbike now. Best of luck at Barber!

And no worries about the wall on the pit straight, I heard about that a lot before I rode out there. It doesnt really come into play at all. Compared to some of the dangerous tracks Mike Sanchez was telling me about on the AMA circuit, MSRH is a dream as far as safety.

I did pretty good all day until my last session, last 2 laps. Went too wide coming out of turn 6 onto the back straight (target fixation on the gravel/edge of track). I exited the track to check my tires then went back out. Next lap I went too hot into the Bus Stop and ran off into the weeds. Luckily I didn't get on the brakes too heavy either time and was able to keep the bike up! I think fatigue was starting to set in. Plus I was riding at 100% of my ability - or inability.

I packed up and headed home after that.
