Long time dream bike at last

When I got out of HS, I was in love with the Ducati Paso Desmo 750. I was working at a dive shop for 3.50 and hour so I was way out of my price range. This is what I wanted,.......

paso750

But this is what I could afford.......

Cagiva20Alzzurra2065020GT2085

Well fate has finally brought us together, found my '89 Paso Desmo yesterday!! 13K original miles and in excellent condition. I'll try to pick her up this afternoon and post pic when she arrives at Casa Beasley. Patience is it's own reward.

That's awesome Buck. For me, I always dreamed of having an early 90's Ninja back when I was in high school.

I wish to have my Yamaha SRX-6 that I had during high school back. She was a project bike and at the time, didn't realize what I had.

It's a Tambourini design, how could you not get an errection?
It's going to be interesting as they only sold just over 4800 of them between '86 - '89. That and it has 16 inch wheels. When was the last time you saw a 160/60 16 rear and a 130/60 16 front.
HEY JOHN!!! got any connections to the Pirelli archives. That was OEM, but I'll run Hong Kong ching chong if I can find them .

Cagiva Allazzura 650 is the quarter faired bike. Had the Duc motor "L" motor in it and actually made better numbers that the 750. My buddy at the time had a sweet cb 750 and we gave each other some great runs back and forth to work back in the day. Still remember old Andy when we stopped at a light on HWY 3, lane split to the front so we could race to the next light. Light turns green, he drops the clutch and goes to 1 o'clock. Thought he ws gonna lose it.
But I was in love with the fully faired full fairing. You can't see any mechanicals on the bike in trim. Came with the Marchozzi M1 front end package with the right fork controling rebound and the left compression. Way before this became "new" again recently. Factory Ohlins rear shock OEM, and the best switch package ever put on a bike at the time. One of the first push to cancel turn signals. There is just something about the bike when you are near it that screams "let's rape some asphalt". This was at a time wehn Ducati was about to go under for good, but a deal was made with Cagiva. Duc provided the power plant, Cagiva did the rest. Tambourini did the design, and later did a few of the most famous Duc and Agusta designs. Cagiva later made a deal to buy Ducati with the stipulation that the name would remain a motorcycle brand.
The 16" wheels give is a very capable look. I really hope I do not have to convert the wheel package to 17's. Supposedly Metzler is going to produce the 16's again in 2010, so I'll have to tip toe around on the current set of Michelins, lots of tread, but they have not been made for some time so you won't find me dragging knee on it until I find some new rubber. Got in late form my fish charter today so will have to get it Monday. It's killing me to have is sitting less than three miles away.

She's home................13,085.6 original miles, turns out she's an '88. Have not found much wrong with her a little TLC and elbow grease won't fix. Starts, runs, idles, and shifts very well. Few cosmetic flaws you really have to look for, but I am extatic!!!
