Have Craigslisters lost their minds?

I was surfing Craigslist last night and found this ad. Am I smokin crack, or is that an X-11? My old Kiyonari Edition X-11 RETAILED for $700, but I got it for $400. This guy is claiming that he paid $1100 for it at Cycle Gear. I don't even think that they carry an $1100 helmet!

Well he probably only wore it once in the store and then it spent the next five months hanging from the passenger peg of his bike.

I see that same trend with cars on craigslist. As people lose their jobs and their situation gets worse they try to get out of it by trying to sell their old cars at ridiculous prices not realizing time is money and they need to liquidate to get out of their situation. Some guy is trying to sell me his 97 lexus for $7,000 and when I offered him blue book he yelled at me.

I've seen ridiculous pricing on helmets especially. I saw an Icon Alliance SSR for $250. This helmet sells for $170 all day long! Some of the people selling older bikes are asking absurd prices also. I saw a 1978 Goldwing for an asking price of $4500! You can pick them up all day long for $2000 or so. I've been thinking about selling my bike recently, but I wouldn't ask more than $2500 for it. At least I'm trying to be reasonable. the whole reason that this me off is that some new guy (or girl) is going to be out trying to buy gear and do it right, and people like this guy are going to have them believing they are getting a good deal on a great helmet. I HATE rip-off artists and scammers!

The new X-12 coming out soon won't cost that much.
