Question Catch 22

I paid cash for my DRZ. Guy gave me the clear Oklahoma title.

I go to the courthouse to transer it into my name and get a clear TX title. Lady tells me I have to show my inspection receipt before she can send the title off. Guy at inspection station tells me I can't get it inspected without proof of insurance. My insurance agent tells me I cant get it insured until the title is in my name.

Which one of these people is putting the wagon before the horse???

you should be able to insure it without the title being in your name...

you need proof of insurance for inspection and inspection for title..

LoL.... Ya bro.... Insurance co is haggling you. Anything out of state needs an "out of state" inspection done to it. Typically is a "green slip" on top of the regular Texas Inspection. We do it to all the out of state vehicles we buy.

As everyone esle said already, it's not your agent's business who it is registered to. Insurance, inspection(be sure to ask for the out of state form it's only an extra $2.50 IIRC), then registration.

FYI, if the bike is not in your name and you total it, insurance won't pay you.

tell your insurance to insure, fax you a binder, then take the binder to inspection office, then take bike to the tax office for registration.
