Gilles changed their design because of some failures.

Something to consider.

Well, I dont know enough about adjusters to really get into it. Obviously a certain amount of Gilles' price comes from the brand name, but there is probably something more to it than that.
I mean, someone could just as easily say that Arai and ICON helmets both meet DOT and SNELL testing requirements, so they must be the same. When we both know they are not.

But like you said, it is just a machined alum. housing with a bolt through the middle. The knock-offs would probably be fine.

Yes, it's a highside waiting to happen.

If you check the set screws regularly, you'll likely be okay. I've contemplated removing mine until I can afford the new design.

unless you just have money to burn stay away from the gilles chain adjusters, and the knock offs. the knock offs are made from a different aluminum grade, and aren't hard annodized like the gilles. also there's no guarantee that the chain indexing marks are the same on either side on the knock offs, like they are on the gilles. i had the gilles on my zx-10r and they weren't really anything spectacular. i never had any breaking issues with them either, even with 192whp on my blue bike.

SO, ALL IT IS is a contraption that replaces the stocker and you can now adjust using one bolt instead of 2 (like a 10 & 12 mm)? I would assume you still have to break the axle loose. If I got it right....you are lazy. lol

Might I add, they look pretty pimp.

If one's into that sort of thing.
