Tollway wants more of your money *New Rates Important Information*

To our valued EZ TAG customers:

Beginning September 12, 2009, the EZ TAG rate for passenger vehicles will increase by five cents to $1.30 for main-lane toll plazas on the Sam Houston, Westpark and Hardy Toll Roads. This annual rate adjustment is necessary to help us keep up with inflation and fund future toll road improvements.

The Katy Managed Lanes and the Ship Channel Bridge are excluded from the rate adjustment, as are the entrance and exit ramps serving the entire system for standard, 2-axle passenger vehicles. Cash toll rates for standard 2-axle passenger vehicles remain unchanged.

Just another reason not to take it.

its because they lied to us when they built it. it's been paid off for years, and they're still charging for it. it's total bs. i don't use the tollway either.

Ha. Paying tolls. Nah, I just signed over a blank check to the gov up to and including my life and they let me through Houston tolls for free. That plus a bunch of cool chit and I get to go play in a sandbox for a year!

We are getting raped by HCTRA. Look at 99 expansion plans. We bought the land, improved the land, built around the land. Now HCTRA wants to pave it and have us pay to drive it. F them. Public road funds FTW. If there's not enough in the coffer, there's just not enough. We'll have to wait, or vote to spend more on roads. Being taxed, by the mile, cause I can afford to pay, is not cool with me. Especially when the road is paid for and we are now funding other totally unrelated. Rant over...but I hate tollroads. Period.
