That is hondas new protection system prototype, they figure they would help prevent riders from being killed in rear end accidents at lights! It is brilliant, however they are still working on appearance issues including active camo to keep the rider from being shot and put out of misery. The other issue they are working out is cornering clearance they keep getting whale drag.
