kickstart bar limp

hey guys i finished repacing the clutch perch in the dr350,, also oil and filter

and when i tried to start it uh the kick start bar goes all the way down and didnt returned, i tought that was it

inspect it and returned it to the upright posistion sever al times until it grabbed again

kicked it like 5 times and starts, and bar go back to the upright position

should i be worry about this? is it shot already?

what to do?

It's like this....

Wanna drive an hour or more to arrive at your destination and then have the bike not properly function? I say pick up a used kick start assembly/spring and replace eventually. Mine took me an hour or so to replace and was like 50 bucks used on ebay.

I was able to remove just the transmisson/engine cover and access it from the side. The kickstart assembly should just slide on the shaft (no need to split the cases). Worse case, open yours up and inspect the teeth on the assembly before buying any parts. Make sure to grab a new gasket though for the cover. (assuming you can access from the side cover). Got a pic of the side where the kick start assembly attaches to the bike?
