I've had an M endorsement since 1983. I'm sooo glad I don't have to deal with that stuff. Although it's a great idea to take the MSF, the added expense of the class may cause some noobs to just start riding without it.

Too late. They'll make you set an appointment for Tuesday for the driving test.

Always. But this really isn't going to make much of a difference to the schools. If each school got an equal number of extra students, it's only about 50 per year per school.

This has already been considered. There's a relatively high chance their bikes will be impounded.

MSF is great, but it seems like this may cause some riders to just ride without getting the M endorsement.

is that right? I bet they'd rather write you a few tickets instead and let you go.

I don't really care personally, I have my M, and I've taken MSF. I think both are a great idea.

As far as people who don't take MSF or don't have an M endorsement, whatever... it's their choice, their skin/fines/legal fees/etc...

They probably will write them a ticket and then impound the bike.

I think its ghey that its mandatory. I also think its bullcrap that a msf cert is good enough to skip the riding portion on the test.

As if somehow MSF makes you road worthy.

A good start yes. Anything more..nope.

Furthermore mandatory things suck.

Never taken MSF...but I have rode with people that just took the class. I genuinely feared for them.

I guess what left a bitter taste in my mouth was when I went to get my M endorsement, the dude in front of me flashed his certificate and got to skip the riding portion...but me...with my 30-40 some odd track days/races have to take it.

Still haven't by the way. I have a restricted M endorsement. The riding portion is just a PITA all together.

Less government man...less government interference = better, more convenient life.

.
ok so seeing how "bad" the MSF grad was, you think a rider w/ the same experience that taught himself and takes the DPS test would be a better rider?

think you'd learn something at MSF class?
