Quick question would it be too much bull to put a R1 motor in my R6? I would like to know any info about the swap? Or if can be done??

Buy an R1. That is a serious answer. I'm just saying.
I doubt an R1 motor will bolt right up, but if it bolts into it, you will be doing some welding, modifying, fabbing, etc etc etc

Yeah that would be pretty cool, but truthfully all the money and effort I dont know if it would be worth it? I really love the R1 so I would just buy a R1, but its your money and time

You would have to send the frame and motor to a very good custom fabricator. Have him do all the work ( prob at least 1500) plus 1500 for a good motor, wiring harness and other .

Sell your bike, Take the 3,000 or more you would spend on the motor transplant and buy a r1
if i wanted to go buy one i would!! I am simply asking no need to bash me bob

From what i read, you would have to do as stated above (mod to the frame because the r1 motor is wider) and there would be a lot of customization needed. Is it possible?? Absolutely...... get your visa card ready. Anything is possible BUT you might want to check the link I posted and read some of the other treads out there. From what i saw, some of the benefits you would think would be there are not.

Again, good luck! Personally I think it would be an awesome site to see.

I didn't think that he was bashing. He answered your
question for you. I agree with him. It seems pretty pointless to me to put a r1 motor in a r6 frame. What would be the benifits of doing this besides being able to say you did it?

Have at it, man! I know a few guys back in "my" day (late '80s-early '90s) who did the same (1K/750cc motors into 600cc bikes). The easiest was 750/600 Gixxer motor swaps, since they essentially had the same frames, but I know a couple of guys that did the 1K swaps. I think the bikes handled like , afterwards, but it was cool... "just because".

Although, back then, that's all the manufacturers seemed to do anyway... stuff big- motors into frames that couldn't handle it. Consider though, that nowadays, the Engineering of these bikes are alot more specific and advanced for each class, and these bikes are ALOT more expensive now than they were 20 years ago. But if you wanna do it, then go for it!

On top of it getting fabbed into the frame, your side fairings may not fit on right/good, and you may have to customize a midpipe to make the exhaust fit.
If you have the time and money, go for it. I'd rather be out riding my new 1000, but thats just me.
