Welcome fella..Thats about the best advice that you will hear..and should follow....MSF before anything. How much time have you put in on the dirtbikes? I started on dirtbikes...

Id have to say the EX500 as well if not the new 650. Get what feels good to you. Just remember bikes dont NEED lots of power.

well i been in motocross for about 5 years but i broke my leg but now i am healed so now i stoppped crossing now i just ride atv and dirtbike but not for competition....ive put around alot alot of time in my bikes now am getting older i want to move up with streetbike lol

Do you have much dirtbike experience? If so, you could probably handle a SV650 or a milder 600cc bike. If not, I would say stick with a 500cc bike.

How old are you? If you are young, you should check insurance prices first. You might be shocked at the cost of insuring a 600cc sportbike.

Since you are saving money, I say pay cash and just get on something as soon as you can. Look for a used EX250, EX500, or GS500 and buy what's available first at a fair price. I think the important thing is not the choice of bike, the important thing is to just start riding and gaining as much experience as you can.
