There is lots of information on RP and what it does to the engine (auto and others) available.

Motul 5100 for me... Ethyl base working good for a long time in all the bikes.

Didn't buy anything today but hoorah, I did my first chain adjustment all by myself The bike calls for a chain adjustment at 7500mi with 1 1/2" slack...my bike has 7800mi and about 3" of play. Now it's down to about 1 1/4" of slack. I cleaned each link one by one by hand to make it like new, too...with chain cleaner and a toothbrush. The sprocket looks mildly worn. I don't have a torque wrench but I guess the torque by hand and reused the cotter pin lol. I need to get a torque wrench and I will keep an eye on the pin.

How long do chains and sprockets typically last OEM?

Nothing but I bought a new one yesterday... that counts right?

Oh and I got it some sliders (frame, and spools), and a double bubble windshield too.
