Cuz you said it was about as fast as a 600 and that it handled better. So, i just figured if it handled better and was as fast, then why do people put down slower laps on it???

Furthermore, I think, and I could be wrong, that most of the technology is developed ON the race track.

But I think Chris Romeo addressed my question, and the answer was that a 1098 sorted like Ty's 6, and he would put down faster laps.

You are talking 848 vs 600...not 1098. So...again, I dont believe that a top racer can turn a faster lap on an 848 than they could a 600. And you would think that a bike AS FAST as a 600 + better handling would be able to at least match lap times.

Just my line of thinking...maybe it is flawed. Unlike others, I openly admit I dont know much.

yeap crabb river and cow creek, carry your bill of sale or proof of recent purchase docs with you just in case.... my friend got pulled over once in that same situation and the cop let him go and he didnt even have insurance on it yet! Last couple of weeks has been no incidents running into cops so i think you should be fine.

Or am I mistaken?
Ask Nicky Hayden and everyone else that has ridden it, besides Stoner.

Different bike, handling, powerband. Some people can adapt, others can't.

Same question can go to the Triumph 650. Everyone raves about the power and handling, but how many do you see up front?

Comes down to the bikes being a dime a dozen, parts are all over and well developed.

the suspension needs serious work (mainly the forks), the shift lever was locking up on the 2008's. gutless motor in stock trim... any 600 will eat it alive. i took 1 lap on one at TWS (Texas World Speedway) and hated it. brought it back to the pits and handed it back to the owner. very disappointing after all the hype the magazines talked up last year.

i guess you missed the complete WSBK 2007 season where the Ducati 1098 & Troy Bayliss dominated the race!

All bikes, japanese or italians are so equally matched that the only difference is the rider! put rossi on a ninja 250 and he will still go faster than most of us at the track!
